Kathleen Trott has worked in addiction medicine for 12 years. She received her Medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Services Center, and completed her residency at the Oregon Health Services Center. Before pursuing medicine Dr. Trott earned undergraduate degrees in finance, Mandarin Chinese and chemistry.
Alicia Fleischmann has been working in the field of substance abuse counseling for the past five years. She received her Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Marquette University. Alicia is a family-oriented "cool mom" who likes sky-diving and promotes healthy eating.
"Having friends and family members who have dealt with addiction has prompted me to be more passionate and understanding in my work with substance use disorders. It's very gratifying to see clients recover and become independent."
James Alder has been a substance abuse counselor for one year, and is currently completing training at Milwaukee Area Technical College. James graduated a six-month sober living program in 2013 and has been an active member of the recovery community in Milwaukee ever since. His experience gives him valuable insight into the mindset and challenges of our clients. James enjoys fashion and piloting small planes.

Lauren Lathers has been a substance abuse counselor for the past two years. She received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marquette University.
“It’s important for me to be able to find common ground with clients, even though I may have had different experiences. I like helping people find solutions and seeing them succeed despite the challenges of recovery.”
Jeremy Jaeger has been part of the recovery community since 2010. Recognizing a need for structured sober living designed around the specific needs of young people in early recovery in the Milwaukee area, Jeremy and his partner Ruby Silvestrini opened their first sober living house in 2012. Roots Counseling Services came about in order to meet a further need of young people in early recovery: abstinence-based counseling and therapeutic support.
"Working with clients over the course of a year, I am able to see dramatic changes. It's very rewarding to see people gain strength and begin to repair the mistakes of their past. To see a fellowship grow up around us is a bright spot in my life."
Ruby Silvestrini has a family perspective on addiction and recovery. Her background is in art and design, and she brings that sensibility to the creative problem-solving, environmental design, policy drafting, and workplace organization that she implements and oversees at Roots.
“My experience has taught me that a great opportunity for redemption is available to addicts working towards recovery. I have been blessed to know the fruits of that effort in my own life, and am grateful to be a part of helping people find the path from being lost in their own suffering to being of service to others.”
Trevor Nettles is an active member of the Milwaukee recovery community. His dependable commitment to helping other young addicts makes him a natural fit at Roots. Trevor has a degree in history and is a big fan of Teddy Roosevelt.
